Nutrition Consultations Now Available at Food Bank
As of May 2018, Nutritionist Lynn Grossutti offers no-cost nutritional advice at the Sunshine Coast Food Bank twice a month on Wednesdays.
Food security is "all people, at all times, have physical and economic access to sufficient, safe and nutritious food to meet their dietary needs and food preferences for an active and healthy life."
Sunshine Coast Community Services supports a goal of community food security, which incorporates sustainable food systems, community self-reliance, and equity of access to nutritious food. One step towards that goal is learning about food nutrition and how to enhance healthy decisions on a limited budget.
A graduate of the University of Guelph, Lynn Grossutti holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Clinical and Therapeutic Nutrition. She has taught cooking classes for the past thirty years and will extend her expertise to the Sunshine Coast Food Bank twice a month on Wednesdays at the food bank.
Program participants are encouraged to sign up for the free by appointment consultations to learn more about nutrition and healthy eating.
