Honouring Our Story

A huge thank you to everyone who attended our Roots, Branches, Seeds of Change event on September 15! We enjoyed a memorable day of fun activities and a heartwarming ceremony followed by a BBQ. The ceremony marks a significant milestone for SCCSS as we prepare to leave this building behind and make way for our new redevelopment, Building Together - it was incredibly moving! We shared food, stories, laughter and new connections. We welcomed past and present staff, board members and volunteers, neighbours, community members and family - all connected in an uplifting celebration!

Special thanks to Candace Campo for joining us for our ceremony and sharing stories, and to Alphonso and Emberly for sharing the shíshálh Nation welcome song and participating in our celebration. This is our dream - creating a space in our community that welcomes everyone and where everyone feels welcome! See more photos from the big day below. 

Building Together, will be part of a long-term and sustainable solution to help address poverty, homelessness, hunger and crime. The Building Together development will include 34 units of affordable housing, crisis response, support and prevention programs - all in one location. These resources will be accessible to all Sunshine Coast community members and will play a critical role in the health and well-being of our entire community.
