Call for Proposals: Feasibility Studies for Foundry Sunshine Coast

SCCSS is inviting proposals for feasibility studies to assess the potential for a capital campaign to develop a new Foundry Centre and evaluate two sites in Sechelt for its location.

Sunshine Coast Community Services Society (SCCSS) invites qualified consultants to submit proposals for two critical feasibility studies related to the development of the Foundry Sunshine Coast. These studies will help assess the potential for a capital campaign to establish a new Foundry Centre and evaluate two potential sites in Sechelt for its location.

Feasibility Study for Capital Campaign

The first study will focus on the feasibility of raising funds to support the development of a new Foundry Centre that will serve the Sunshine Coast community. The scope of work will include:

  1. Assessing the necessary support and feasibility of achieving the funding goal.
  2. Gauging community interest, priorities, and support for the new Foundry Centre.
  3. Evaluating organizational readiness.
  4. Defining the roles of the Foundry Central Office, Sunshine Coast Community Services, and other stakeholders.
  5. Determining the level of philanthropic support available in the community.
  6. Recommending a comprehensive fundraising strategy, including goals, timelines, and resource allocation.

Timeline: The final report for this study is expected by April 24, 2025. Proponents who cannot meet this timeline should suggest an alternative schedule.

Closing Date for Proposals: December 6, 2024

Feasibility Study for Site Evaluation

The second study will evaluate two potential sites in Sechelt for the new Foundry Centre. This analysis will focus on both location feasibility and site appropriateness, examining:

  • Location Feasibility: Analyzing land use controls such as floor area ratio (FAR), building height, lot coverage, and zoning requirements.
  • Environmental Concerns: Assessing site constraints related to topography, drainage patterns, orientation, geotechnical issues, accessibility, and special land conditions (e.g., flood zones).
  • Appropriateness: Evaluating safety and accessibility, considering proximity to businesses, transportation options, and environmental variables impacting safety.

Timeline: The final report for this site evaluation is anticipated by November 29, 2024. Proponents unable to meet this deadline should provide an alternative timeline.

Closing Date for Proposals: October 31, 2024
