Better at Home
Better at Home is a program that helps seniors with simple, non-medical household and social services, so they can continue to live independently in their own homes and remain connected to their communities.
The Government of British Columbia funds the program, United Way of the Lower Mainland manages it, and Sunshine Coast Community Services operates it between Port Mellon and West Sechelt. There are over 80 Better at Home programs across the Lower Mainland.
Better at Home services are provided by a mix of volunteers, contractors, and staff. Some services are provided free of charge, and others have fees. All fees are determined on a sliding scale based on income and ability to pay.
