Lydia has recently retired from her most recent senior healthcare leadership position as Executive Director, BC Centre for Disease Control Operations and Chronic Disease Prevention. She has many years of experience in public health and chronic disease management, at both the community level and the senior health system policy and strategic planning level. She is a member of the BC Recreation & Parks Association Board of Directors, and a past Board chair (2009/10) and director for United Way of the Lower Mainland, having served as chair of the Community Investment Relations Committee which oversees United Way’s strategic investments in children and seniors.
In both her professional work and community service, Lydia displays a strong interest in promoting health and well-being through prevention and health service initiatives. Married, with a grown daughter who has proven she shares her mother’s interests by completing a post graduate degree in public policy with a focus on the determinants of health, Lydia lives in Gibsons.
