A physician since 1972 Kay worked as general practitioner for 10 years in northern aboriginal communities in Nunavut, Northern Manitoba and Labrador. After completing a Masters of Public Health at John Hopkins and specialty training in Community Medicine she spent more than 10 years in Africa. She also spent 10 years as Medical Health Officer in Manitoba and BC. Kay hold current adjunct appointments at University of BC, University of Calgary and Simon Fraser University and is a Visiting Lecturer at Mbarara University in Uganda. Kay lives in Gibsons and is looking forward to contributing to the community that she now calls home.
